Did you do spotted gum? Looks like it from the pic. We love ours - glad we upgraded to the Silkwood, just sounds more solid underfoot and can re-sand once the kids get a little older and less destructive!

The timber floor do look great, don't they? Yep, you are spot on. These are spotted gum, alright. Apparently, Spotted Gum got the 2nd highest janka rating (hardness) amongst all the timber species in the Boral Silkwood range (red mahogany is 1st). So, we're hoping we'll get much mileage from these floors before they get re-sanded and re-polished.
The only other thing we would have changed is the height of the skirting, or, next time, if we build again, we'll get the builder to do the skirting last, after the timber floor has been laid. The skirting is kinda lost/shrunk after the timber floor has been laid, unfortunately.

Lovely! I really don't think you can beat beautiful timber on the floors. Adds so much warmth to a home :)
